What it is

A web-based performance appraisal/career development system developed at Vanderbilt Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee.

Health Facilities Partners

  • Jackson General Hospital, Ripley
  • Plateau Medical Center, Oak Hill
  • Elkins Regional Convalescent and Rehabilitation, Elkins
  • Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston

Elkins will be the first Long Term Care facility to pilot this project and it will be the first to include Nursing Assistants.

Expected Outcomes

In facilities that have put careerPACE into practice, each facility has demonstrated:

  • A decrease in nursing turnover rates
  • A decrease in nursing vacancy rates

Funding

Sponsors: Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation, West Virginia Center for Nursing and the West Virginia Nursing Leadership Institute.

the funds received will allow the West Virginia Center for Nursing to pay for the following expenses for one year:

  • License/implementation fees
  • Per nurse (seat) charfe for access to careerPACE

Collaboration with AssistMed, Inc.

  • Extensive relationship with Vanderbilt Medical Center where this concept became reality
